Walking
If you are in the center of Caguas, head towards Avenida José De Diego. Walk northwest along this avenue for about 15 minutes until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Turn left onto Route 1 and continue straight for approximately 30 minutes. You will pass several local shops and restaurants. After about 30 minutes, you will see a sign for Isla de Cabras on your right. Follow the signs to the Fuerte Amézquita located at FVF7+283 Isla de Cabras National Historic Site.

Public Bus
From the Caguas bus terminal, take the 'Guaynabo' bus which stops at various locations in Caguas. Inform the driver that you are heading to Isla de Cabras. The bus will take you towards the Route 1 area. Once you arrive at Route 1, get off at the nearest stop and walk approximately 10-15 minutes towards the Isla de Cabras sign. Follow the directional signs to Fuerte Amézquita.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, you can ride from Caguas to Isla de Cabras. Start at the main square in Caguas and follow Avenida José De Diego northwest. After about 15 minutes, turn left onto Route 1. Continue cycling for around 30 minutes. Make sure to follow the bike lanes where available for safety. Once you see the Isla de Cabras sign, take the exit and follow the path to Fuerte Amézquita.
