Continue on PR-191 until you reach the El Yunque Visitor Center, which is approximately 5 miles from the entrance. The Visitor Center is a great place to stop for information about the park, maps, and restrooms. From the Visitor Center, take the road that leads to El Yunque Peak, following the signs. The drive will take you through beautiful landscapes and lush vegetation. Note that parking is available at designated areas near trails.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take the bus from San Juan to Río Grande. You can catch the bus at the San Juan terminal, and the fare is typically around $2-$3. Once you arrive in Río Grande, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to the El Yunque Visitor Center, as public transport does not reach the forest directly. The taxi ride should cost approximately $10-$15. From the Visitor Center, you can either hike to El Yunque or join a guided tour that may be available at the Visitor Center.

If you are already within the Caribbean National Forest, and you enjoy hiking, you can reach El Yunque Peak via the well-marked La Mina Trail.
