Car
If you are driving from the Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge, start by exiting the refuge and turning left onto Sachuest Point Road. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with East Main Road (Route 138). Turn right onto East Main Road and drive for approximately 1 mile. Look for signs indicating 'Third Beach' and turn right onto 3rd Beach Road. Follow 3rd Beach Road for about 0.3 miles and you will find the parking area for Third Beach on your right. Note that there may be parking fees during peak season.
Public Transportation
To reach Third Beach via public transportation, you will first need to take the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) bus. From the Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge, walk back to East Main Road and catch the RIPTA Route 67 bus towards Newport. Ride for about 15 minutes and get off at the stop for 'East Main Rd at 3rd Beach Rd.' From there, it's a short walk down 3rd Beach Road to reach the beach. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as service may vary.
