    Getting There

    Walking

    From the center of Westerly, head southeast on High Street toward Main Street. Continue straight onto Canal Street. Follow Canal Street until it becomes Route 1 (Boston Post Road). After about 0.5 miles, turn left onto Wilcox Avenue. Continue for 1 mile, where you will reach the intersection with Route 1. Cross Route 1 and walk along Wilcox Avenue until you reach the entrance to Barn Island Wildlife Management Area.

    Bicycling

    Start at the Westerly Town Hall on Sandy Hill Road. Head south on Sandy Hill Road, then take a left onto Main Street. Ride along Main Street until you reach Canal Street, then follow Canal Street as it turns into Route 1 (Boston Post Road). After about 1 mile, take a left onto Wilcox Avenue. Continue for another mile, and you will see the entrance to Barn Island Wildlife Management Area on your left.

    Public Transportation

    Take the Westerly Transit bus (check the latest schedule for availability) from the downtown area. Board the bus heading towards Pawcatuck. Get off at the stop closest to Route 1. From there, walk along Wilcox Avenue, crossing Route 1, until you reach the entrance of Barn Island Wildlife Management Area.
