If you're driving from Yawgoo Valley Ski Area, start by heading south on Yawgoo Valley Rd toward RI-138 E. Merge onto RI-138 E and continue for about 14 miles. This will take you into Newport. As you approach Newport, follow signs for US-1 S/RI-138 E. Once on the US-1 S/RI-138 E, continue until you reach the intersection with Thames St. Turn right onto Thames St and follow it until you reach the waterfront area where you can find Newport Harbor. The Newport Harbor Lighthouse is located in this area; look for the lighthouse along the coast.

To reach Newport Harbor Lighthouse via public transportation from Yawgoo Valley Ski Area, you can start by taking the RIPTA bus route 67 from the closest bus stop. Make sure to check the schedule in advance. Ride the bus until you reach the Newport Transportation Center. Once you arrive, transfer to the Newport trolley service or take a short walk to the waterfront area. Follow signs toward Thames St, and then walk along the waterfront until you reach the Newport Harbor Lighthouse.
