Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Cyangugu. Head southeast on Avenue de la Paix towards Avenue du 1er Novembre. After about 1.5 km, take the right onto the Rw 207 road, which will lead you towards Gikongoro. Continue on this road for approximately 25 km until you reach the Gikongoro area. Look for signs directing you to the Murambi Genocide Memorial Centre. The memorial is located at GHV9+M4J, Unnamed Road, Gikongoro, Karaba. There is no parking fee, but ensure your vehicle is parked safely.

Public Transportation
To reach the Murambi Genocide Memorial Centre using public transportation, first, find a local bus or 'moto' (motorcycle taxi) in Cyangugu that goes to Gikongoro. The bus station is usually located near the city center. It should cost around 1,000 RWF for a bus ticket. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Gikongoro, you may need to take another motorcycle taxi directly to the memorial site. This ride will cost an additional 1,500 RWF and take about 15 minutes. Be sure to confirm the fare before starting your ride.
