    To drive from Gikongoro to Kigali, start by heading northeast on the main road from Gikongoro. Follow the signs for Nyamagabe and continue on the RN6 road. After approximately 1 hour, you will reach the junction where you can either continue on RN6 or take the shortcut via the Rwaza road (RDB). If you take RN6, continue until you reach the outskirts of Kigali, where you will see signs directing you to various neighborhoods including Amahoro. The final destination is located at 24R7+R3X, Kigali. Ensure your vehicle is fueled, as there are limited fuel stations along the route.

  • Public Transportation (Minibus)

    To travel by public transport, first make your way to the nearest minibus terminal in Gikongoro. Look for a minibus heading to Kigali; these are usually marked with a sign in the window. The fare is typically around 1,500 RWF (Rwandan Francs). Once on the bus, it will take approximately 2-3 hours to reach Kigali, depending on traffic. The minibus will drop you off at Nyabugogo bus terminal in Kigali. From there, you can take a motorcycle taxi (known as 'moto') to get to your final destination at 24R7+R3X, Kigali. The moto fare should be around 1,000 RWF.
