Begin your journey at the center of Karongi town, near the main market. Head south on Avenue de l'Indépendance for about 500 meters until you reach the main road (Route Nationale 1). Turn left onto Route Nationale 1 and continue walking for approximately 3 kilometers. Keep an eye out for local signage indicating Murambi Genocide Memorial Centre. After about 3 kilometers, you will see an unmarked road to your right leading towards Gikongoro. Turn onto this road and walk for about 1 kilometer until you reach the memorial centre.
