Bus
From Thiès, head to the main bus station (Gare Routière de Thiès). Look for the buses heading towards Mbour or Popenguine. The fare is usually affordable, around 500-1000 CFA. Once you are on the bus, inform the driver or conductor that you are going to Popenguine, and they will notify you when to get off. The journey takes approximately 30-45 minutes.

Walking
After getting off the bus in Popenguine, you will need to walk to Réserve naturelle de Popenguine. Head towards Route de Popenguine, which is the main road. Follow this road for about 1.5 kilometers (approximately 20-25 minutes on foot). Keep an eye out for signs or ask locals for directions to the nature reserve as you approach. The reserve is located on the left side of the road.

Taxi-Brousse
Alternatively, you can take a 'taxi-brousse' (shared minibus) from Thiès to Popenguine. Find the taxi-brousse station near the main bus station. Once you board, the fare will be similar to the bus, and the travel time will be about the same. Make sure to let the driver know your destination. After arriving in Popenguine, follow the same walking directions as above to reach the reserve.
