If you are driving from the center of Freetown, head southeast on Rawdon Street towards King Harman Road. Continue on King Harman Road for about 3.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Lumley Road. Turn right onto Lumley Road and follow it for around 8 kilometers. You will pass through several neighborhoods, so keep an eye out for local traffic. As you approach the coast, look for signs directing you to Man of War Bay. Follow the signs to the bay, which will be on your right, just before you reach the end of Lumley Road.

To reach Man of War Bay using public transportation, start by taking a shared taxi or a ' poda poda' (minibus) from the central taxi park in Freetown. Ask the driver to take you to Lumley Beach. The fare is typically around 5,000 to 10,000 SLL, depending on your negotiation skills and the time of day. Once you arrive at Lumley Beach, you can walk or hire a local motorcycle taxi (okada) to take you the remaining distance to Man of War Bay. The motorcycle taxi fare should cost around 1,000 to 3,000 SLL.
