Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Liptovský Mikuláš. Take the road E50 (also known as Route 18) heading towards the town of Demänovská Dolina. From Demänovská Dolina, follow the signs for the Nízke Tatry National Park. Drive to the parking area at the end of the road near the Žiarska dolina valley. The parking is usually free, but check for any local regulations. Park your car and prepare for a hike.

Hiking
From the parking area, you will need to hike to reach Jamské tarn. Follow the marked blue trail (Modrá trasa) which leads you towards Jamské Pleso. The hike is approximately 3 km and takes about 1-1.5 hours depending on your pace. The trail is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape, so take your time and enjoy the hike.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Liptovský Mikuláš to the village of Demänovská Dolina. Buses run regularly, and the ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Demänovská Dolina, look for the local shuttle service going to the trailhead for Jamské tarn. The shuttle may have a small fee (around €5-€7). From the shuttle drop-off point, follow the blue marked trail (Modrá trasa) to Jamské tarn, which is approximately a 3 km hike as previously described.
