From Izola, walk to the main bus station located in the city center, near the intersection of Ulica 1. Maja and Ulica Tomažič. Look for the bus service heading to Aquileia. Buses typically run every hour, so check the schedule at the bus station. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic ride which will take approximately 1 hour. Disembark at the Aquileia bus station.

After arriving at the Aquileia bus station, exit the station and turn left onto Via Roma. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Via Capitolo. Turn right onto Via Capitolo and continue walking for about 10 minutes. You will see the Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta on your left, at Piazza Capitolo, 1.

If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike in Izola. Follow the coastal path towards Portorož and Piran, then continue towards the main road leading to Aquileia. It is approximately a 20 km ride, which should take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you reach Aquileia, follow the signs to the city center, where you will find the Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta at Piazza Capitolo, 1.
