Walking
From the center of Nova Gorica, head east on Ulica Tolminskih Puntarjev towards the main square, Trg Edvarda Kardelja. Once you reach the square, look for the bus station, Avtobusna postaja Nova Gorica. From there, take bus number 4 towards Gorica. The bus will take you across the border into Italy, and after approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at the bus stop in Udine. From the bus stop, walk towards Via G. D'Annunzio and continue straight until you reach Piazza del Duomo, where the Cattedrale di Udine is located.
Public Transport
Begin your journey at the Nova Gorica train station. Purchase a ticket for a train heading to Udine. The journey typically takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Udine train station, exit and head towards the main road, Viale Vittoria Veneto. Walk straight until you reach Piazza del Duomo, where you will find the Cattedrale di Udine.
Bicycle
If you are comfortable cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Nova Gorica. Start by cycling towards the border crossing at the river. Follow the cycling path that leads you to the Italian border, continuing onto Via Roma in Italy. Keep cycling straight until you reach Udine. Once in Udine, follow the signs to the city center, and you will find yourself at Piazza del Duomo, home to the Cattedrale di Udine.
