Car
If you're driving, start on the M3 highway towards Cape Town. Take the exit towards the N1 and follow signs for 'Table Mountain' and 'Cableway'. Continue on Tafelberg Road until you reach the parking area at the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway. From there, look for signs to Platteklip Gorge. The trailhead is located at the end of the parking lot, where you can begin your hike.

Public Transportation
To reach the Top of Platteklip Gorge using public transport, take the MyCiTi bus from the city center towards Hout Bay. Disembark at the 'Table Mountain Aerial Cableway' stop. From the bus stop, walk to the parking area of the Cableway. Follow the signs to the Platteklip Gorge trailhead, which is located just beyond the parking area. Ensure you check the bus schedule for return trips.

Hiking
The hike to the top of Platteklip Gorge is a popular route. The trail begins at the parking lot of the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway. It is a steep ascent, approximately 3 kilometers long, taking about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the top. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring water. The trail is well-marked, and you'll have beautiful views along the way.

Costs
If you park at the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, there is a parking fee of approximately R10 per hour. If you are using the MyCiTi bus, a one-way fare from the city center to Table Mountain is around R20. Make sure to have a MyCiTi card, which can be purchased at stations.
