Jetty 2: A Historical Gem at the V&A Waterfront

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are near the V&A Waterfront Shopping Centre, head towards the waterfront area. Walk along the promenade, which is clearly marked and follows the edge of the water. Keep walking until you see the large red and white striped lighthouse; Jetty 2 is just past that, situated along the pier. It’s approximately a 10-minute walk from the shopping centre.

• Public Transport (MyCiTi Bus)

  Find the nearest MyCiTi bus station, which is located at the V&A Waterfront. You can take the MyCiTi bus to the Waterfront station. From there, exit the station and follow the walking path towards the waterfront. Jetty 2 is a short walk from the station, taking about 5 minutes. Note that a MyCiTi card is required for travel, which costs around R35 (including a R30 deposit for the card itself).

• Taxi (Metered)

  If you prefer to take a taxi, there are metered taxis available throughout the V&A Waterfront. Simply ask for a taxi at any of the designated taxi stands or request one through a rideshare app. Provide the driver with the destination 'Jetty 2, V&A Waterfront'. A taxi ride within the Waterfront area typically costs between R30 and R50, depending on where you're starting from.

• Boat Shuttle

  If you are at the V&A Waterfront, you can also take a boat shuttle if it's operating at the time of your visit. Look for signs indicating the boat shuttle services, which typically run between different points on the waterfront. The shuttle will take you directly to Jetty 2. Be sure to check the schedule and ticket prices, which usually range from R20 to R40.
