Getting There

Continue along this road until you reach the Sylvan Lake parking area. The Black Elk Peak Trailhead is located at the far end of the parking lot. Note that parking may incur a fee of $20 for a daily pass to Custer State Park.

    From the Custer State Park Visitor Center, take SD-36 E for about 5 miles. Turn left onto SD-87 N. Follow the signs to Sylvan Lake. Upon arrival, park in the designated parking area. This area may have a daily parking fee.
