Car
From anywhere in Custer State Park, head north on SD-87. Follow SD-87 for approximately 12 miles. You will come to a junction with SD-244; continue straight to stay on SD-87. After about 3 miles, turn left onto US-16A. Follow this road for about 3 miles until you reach Hill City. Once in Hill City, turn right onto Railroad Ave. The 1880 Train - Hill City Depot will be on your left at 222 Railroad Ave.

Currently, there is limited public transportation directly within Custer State Park. However, you can take the Black Hills Central Railroad from Custer to Hill City if available. Check their schedule in advance as service may vary. Once you arrive in Hill City, walk or take a taxi to 222 Railroad Ave, where the 1880 Train - Hill City Depot is located.
