If you are traveling by car within Needles Highway, start by heading south on US-16A. Continue driving for about 8 miles until you reach the intersection with SD-89. From there, take a left onto SD-89. After about 1 mile, you will see the Gordon Stockade Historical Landmark on your right side at 12653 US-16A, Custer, SD 57730. There is parking available on-site.

If you are using public transportation, first check the local bus schedules for routes that service the Custer area. You will want to board a bus heading towards Custer City. Once you arrive in Custer, ask the driver for the nearest stop to US-16A. From there, it is about a 0.5-mile walk to the Gordon Stockade Historical Landmark. Head east on US-16A, and you will see the landmark on your left.
