If you are driving from any location in Gyeonggi Province, the easiest route to Bukchon Hanok Village in Jongno District, Seoul is to take the Gyeonggi Expressway (also known as the Olympic Highway) towards Seoul. Follow the signs for 'Seoul' and merge onto the Dongbu Expressway. Continue until you reach the junction for the Seoul Ring Expressway, then take exit 1 to merge onto the 1st Ring Road. Follow the signs for 'Jongno' and exit towards 'Jongno 1(il) ga'. Once you exit, follow the signs towards Gyedong-gil. There is limited parking available near Bukchon Hanok Village, so be prepared to pay for parking, which can range from 1,000 to 3,000 KRW per hour.

Public Transportation - Subway
To reach Bukchon Hanok Village via public transportation, first make your way to the nearest subway station in Gyeonggi Province. The most convenient option is to take the Seoul Subway Line 3 (the Orange Line). Depending on your starting location, transfer to Line 3 at one of the connecting stations. Travel towards 'Daehwa Station' and get off at 'Anguk Station'. Take Exit 2. From the exit, walk straight for about 600 meters to reach Bukchon Hanok Village. This subway journey typically costs between 1,250 and 2,000 KRW depending on your starting point.

Public Transportation - Bus
If you prefer taking a bus, locate the nearest bus stop in Gyeonggi Province and look for buses heading to Seoul. You can find bus routes that go directly to Jongno District. For example, you can take the bus number 7016, which connects Gyeonggi Province to Jongno. After arriving at a stop in Jongno, get off at 'Jongno 3 ga' bus stop. From there, you can either walk about 10-15 minutes to Bukchon Hanok Village or take a local taxi for around 4,000 KRW. Bus fares generally range from 1,200 KRW to 2,500 KRW depending on the distance.
