Kilometre Zero: The Heart of Madrid

Getting There

• Metro

  If you are near a metro station, take Line 1 (the light blue line) towards Pinar de Chamartín. Change at the 'Sol' station, which is just a short walk from Kilometre Zero. Once you exit the station, follow the signs to Puerta del Sol. As you emerge from the station, you will see the bustling square in front of you. Kilometre Zero is located right in the square, marked by a small plaque on the ground.

• Bus

  Look for nearby bus stops and check for routes that head towards 'Puerta del Sol'. Buses such as lines 3, 5, 15, 20, 21, 53, and 150 stop close to the area. Once you get off the bus, head towards the Puerta del Sol square, and you will find Kilometre Zero at the center of the square marked by a plaque.

• Walking

  If you are already in the Centro district, simply walk towards 'Puerta del Sol'. This is one of the most famous squares in Madrid. Depending on your starting point, landmarks such as Plaza Mayor or Gran Vía can guide you. From Plaza Mayor, walk northeast for about 10 minutes, and you will see the vibrant Puerta del Sol square ahead. Kilometre Zero is located in the middle of the square.

• Taxi or Ride-Sharing

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can use a taxi or a ride-sharing service like Uber. Just tell the driver to take you to 'Puerta del Sol'. The ride will take you directly to the square, where you can find Kilometre Zero.
