Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the town of Cangas de Onís. Head towards the A-8 highway and take the exit for the N-625 road towards Riaño. Continue on N-625 until you reach the village of Poncebos. From Poncebos, follow the signs to the funicular railway station (funicular de Bulnes), which will take you directly to Bulnes. The funicular ride lasts approximately 8 minutes and costs around €15 for a round trip. Once in Bulnes, you will see trails leading towards Naranjo de Bulnes, which is about a 2-hour hike (approximately 6 km) from the village.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Oviedo or Cangas de Onís to Poncebos. ALSA provides regular services to Poncebos. From Poncebos, you can catch the funicular to Bulnes (costing around €15 for a round trip). After arriving in Bulnes, follow the marked trails towards Naranjo de Bulnes. The hike will take about 2 hours. Make sure to check the bus schedules ahead of time as they may vary, especially on weekends.
Hiking
If you're already near Bulnes and prefer hiking, you can start your journey from the village itself. There are clear paths leading to Naranjo de Bulnes. The hike takes approximately 2 hours and is well-marked. Be sure to wear appropriate hiking footwear and carry plenty of water and snacks, as the trail can be challenging in parts.
