Getting There

  • Car

    From Anuradhapura town, head east on the A9 highway towards Mihintale. Continue for about 12 kilometers until you reach Mihintale. Once in Mihintale, look for the signs leading to the Rajagiri Caves. You will take a left onto a smaller road marked with signs. Drive approximately 3 kilometers, and you will find the Rajagiri Caves on your right. Parking is available near the caves.

  • Public Transportation

    From Anuradhapura, board a bus heading to Mihintale. The journey will take around 30 minutes, and the fare is usually around 50-100 LKR. Once you arrive at the Mihintale bus station, you can either walk (about 3 kilometers) or take a tuk-tuk to the Rajagiri Caves. Tuk-tuks may cost around 300-400 LKR and will drop you off directly at the caves entrance.
