Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Anuradhapura city center, head southeast on Jaffna Rd/A9. Continue for about 1.5 km until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Tissawewa Rd. After approximately 1 km, turn left onto Lovamahapaya Access Rd. Follow this road for about 500 meters, and you will see Lovamahapaya on your right. There is parking available nearby.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Lovamahapaya via public transport, take a local bus from Anuradhapura Central Bus Station. Look for buses heading towards Mihintale or those labeled for Tissawewa. The bus fare is usually around LKR 50. After about 15-20 minutes, get off at the Tissawewa stop. From there, take a tuk-tuk (which costs approximately LKR 200-300) to Lovamahapaya. The tuk-tuk ride will take about 5 minutes.
