Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Anuradhapura (near the Ruwanwelisaya Stupa), head northeast on the Main Street (Mihinthale Road) for about 500 meters until you reach the junction with the Jethawanaramaya Road. At this junction, turn left onto Jethawanaramaya Road and continue for about 1 kilometer. Keep an eye out for signs or locals who can direct you. Once you reach the area near Jethawanaramaya, continue straight until you see the Yathuru Pokuna, which is located approximately 100 meters past the Jethawanaramaya complex.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the shops in Anuradhapura. Start from the center of Anuradhapura and ride northeast on Main Street (Mihinthale Road) for about 500 meters. At the junction with Jethawanaramaya Road, turn left and cycle about 1 kilometer. Look for directional signs or ask locals for assistance. After passing Jethawanaramaya, continue straight for another 100 meters to reach Yathuru Pokuna.

  • Tuk-Tuk

    To take a tuk-tuk, find a tuk-tuk stand in the center of Anuradhapura. Inform the driver that you want to go to Yathuru Pokuna. The driver will take you northeast along Main Street (Mihinthale Road) for about 500 meters, then turn left onto Jethawanaramaya Road. After approximately 1 kilometer, they will drop you off near Yathuru Pokuna, which is about 100 meters past the Jethawanaramaya complex.
