A perfect start for your first Surf and Sri Lanka Holiday

A big thank you goes to Romy, Mia, and the entire crew, from the surf instructors to the kitchen staff, and of course the three dogs !!! It was the perfect end to my four-week trip to Sri Lanka! The best surfing lessons I had on the island, especially as a beginner, the one-on-one sessions with amazing feedback and attention to detail. After surfing, there was a delicious breakfast (doesn't matter what you will choose), all lovingly handmade. Yoga in the afternoon with Mara rounded off the day! Also I am an absolute Yoga Beginner and it was a perfect start. I stayed at the dorm in the wooden house and I was super clean, you can find small lockers size of a notebook and 2 fans. I enjoyed the shower at the outdoor bathroom. Mia and Romy also organize many other activities for their guests, such as massages, cooking with a local family, trips to the nearby waterfall, and much more. In addition, many activities are also offered for people who are not staying here, such as a weekly sound bath, paint your own Sri Lankan mask, and the daily yoga lesson is also open to everyone. Mia and Romy have created a gem here, with a great concept, amazing crew, and definitely the most relaxed place in Hikka. Don't miss it!

Fantastic Mangrove Adventure on the Madu River Our visit to the Madu River for a mangrove adventure was an unforgettable experience! The boat ride was serene and allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of the lush mangroves and the calm waters of the river. The natural surroundings were stunning, and we were lucky to spot some fascinating wildlife, including birds, monitor lizards, and even flying foxes. A standout moment was visiting a small temple located on one of the islands, which is considered a go-to Buddhist place for many locals. It offered a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere, adding a unique cultural aspect to the tour. The guide shared fascinating insights about the history and significance of the temple, making the experience even more meaningful. We also visited a cinnamon plantation, where we learned about the process of making cinnamon. The demonstration was engaging, and the aroma of freshly harvested cinnamon was unforgettable. The entire trip was well-organized, and our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure we had a fantastic time. This adventure is a perfect mix of nature, culture, and learning. If you’re visiting the area, the Madu River mangrove adventure is a must-do activity. It’s an incredible way to explore Sri Lanka’s natural beauty and rich traditions. Highly recommended!
