Car
If you're driving, head towards the town of Kandy first. From Kandy, take the A26 road towards Gampola. After Gampola, look for signs for Heenapita Road (B30). Follow Heenapita Road, and you will find Mandawala Ella on your left-hand side. Make sure to use a GPS or a map application to navigate accurately, as some roads may not be well-marked.
Public Transportation
To reach Mandawala Ella by public transport, take a bus from Kandy to Gampola. Buses frequently run from the Kandy bus station to Gampola, and the fare is usually around 50 LKR. From Gampola, you can catch a local bus or a tuk-tuk to Heenapita Road, which may cost around 100-200 LKR. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Mandawala Ella, as it is a popular tourist attraction.
Tuk-Tuk
Alternatively, from Kandy, you can hire a tuk-tuk directly to Mandawala Ella. This option will cost approximately 1500-2000 LKR, depending on your negotiation skills and the distance. Make sure to agree on a fare before starting your journey. The tuk-tuk will take you directly to the site, making it a convenient choice for tourists.
