Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Colombo, take the Southern Expressway (E01) from Colombo to Galle. The journey is approximately 2 hours (approx. 120 km). Once you reach Galle, take the Galle-Matara Road (A2) toward Galle Fort. Follow the signs to Galle Fort, and upon entering the fort area, you will find the Galle Fort Clock Tower located within the fort premises. Parking may be available nearby, but be mindful of parking fees which can vary.

  • Train

    For a scenic option, take a train from Colombo Fort Railway Station to Galle. The train ride takes about 2 to 3 hours, depending on the service. Tickets cost around LKR 100-300, depending on the class of travel. Upon arrival at Galle Railway Station, exit the station and take a tuk-tuk or walk (around 1.5 km) towards Galle Fort. Follow the signs directing you to Galle Fort, and you will arrive at the Clock Tower.
