Getting There

Walking
From the center of Ella, head towards the bus station which is located on the main road. Once you reach the bus station, look for a bus heading to Nuwara Eliya. The bus ride will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. When you arrive at the Nuwara Eliya bus station, exit the bus and walk straight ahead until you reach the main road. Take a left onto the main road and continue walking for about 10-15 minutes. You will see signs directing you to Lake Gregory, and you can follow those signs or ask locals for directions. The lake will be on your right side.

Tuk-Tuk
From Ella town, find a tuk-tuk stand or hail a tuk-tuk from the street. Inform the driver that you want to go to Lake Gregory in Nuwara Eliya. The trip will take around 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive at Lake Gregory, the driver will drop you off near the lake entrance.

Train and Walking
Begin by walking to the Ella railway station, which is about a 10-minute walk from the town center. Take a train heading towards Nuwara Eliya. The train journey will offer beautiful views and takes approximately 2 hours. Once you arrive at the Nuwara Eliya station, exit the station and head towards the main road. Turn right and walk for about 20 minutes until you reach Lake Gregory. You can also ask locals for directions if needed.
