Walking
If you are in the city center of Kandy, head towards the Kandy Lake by walking down D.S. Senanayake Veediya. Keep the Kandy Municipal Council building on your left. Continue straight until you reach a large open area with views of the lake. You should see the Kandy Lake directly ahead. It’s approximately a 15-minute walk from the center.
Tuk-Tuk
If you prefer a quicker option, you can take a tuk-tuk. Simply find a tuk-tuk stand near the Kandy City Center or ask your hotel to arrange one for you. Tell the driver 'Kandy Lake'. The ride should take around 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, typically around 200-300 LKR.
Public Bus
From the Kandy bus station, you can take a local bus towards 'Peradeniya'. Look for buses that display 'Kandy Lake' as their destination. The bus ride will take about 10-15 minutes. Get off at the stop near the lake, and you will see it as soon as you exit the bus.
