Walking
If you are in Kandy city center, start at the Kandy Clock Tower. From there, head east on Dalada Veediya (Temple Road) towards the Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Tooth). Continue straight until you reach Sangamitta Mawatha. Turn left onto Sangamitta Mawatha. Udawatta Kele Sanctuary is located a short distance ahead on the right side, right next to the Forest Department Office.

You can hire a Tuk-Tuk from anywhere in Kandy. Simply tell the driver 'Udawatta Kele Sanctuary' or 'Forest Department Office on Sangamitta Mawatha'. The drivers are usually familiar with the location and it will take about 10-15 minutes from the city center depending on traffic. The fare should be around 300-500 LKR.

From the Kandy Bus Station, look for buses headed towards Peradeniya or Gampola. Get on a bus that stops near the Kandy Lake area. Once you get off, head towards Sangamitta Mawatha. Walk along Sangamitta Mawatha, and Udawatta Kele Sanctuary will be on your right, next to the Forest Department Office. The bus ride will take about 10-20 minutes depending on traffic.
