From Kitulgala, drive towards Avissawella via the A7 road. Head southeast on the A7 for about 15 kilometers until you reach the turnoff to the monastery. The entrance will be on your left. There is ample parking available at the monastery. The drive should take approximately 20 minutes.

Public Transportation (Bus)
From Kitulgala, take a bus heading towards Avissawella. Buses are frequent and can be caught from the main bus stop in Kitulgala. The journey will take about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Avissawella, you may need to take a tuk-tuk (three-wheeler) for the last 5 kilometers to reach Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery. The tuk-tuk ride will cost approximately 200-300 LKR.
