Car
If you are traveling by car from Kitulgala, start on the A7 road heading towards Deraniyagala. Continue for about 16 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the W9PP+V78 road. Turn right onto W9PP+V78 and drive for approximately 2 kilometers. You will see signs for Rakkanawa Water Fall. Park your car in the designated area nearby, and follow the walking trail for about 10 minutes to reach the waterfall.
Public Transportation
To reach Rakkanawa Water Fall using public transportation, start at the main bus stand in Kitulgala. Take a bus heading towards Deraniyagala. The fare is usually around 50 LKR. After about 30 minutes, get off at the W9PP+V78 stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 2 kilometers along the road. Look for signs directing you to the waterfall. The walk should take around 30-40 minutes, following the trail until you reach the waterfall.
Walking
If you are already close to the area, you can walk from Kitulgala to Rakkanawa Water Fall. Begin at the main street in Kitulgala and follow the A7 road towards Deraniyagala. After approximately 16 kilometers, turn onto W9PP+V78 and continue for 2 kilometers. This walk can take several hours, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water. The path may be uneven in some places, so be cautious.
