If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Matale. Take the A9 highway towards Kandy, then follow the signs to the Knuckles Mountain Range. Once you reach the entrance of the Knuckles Conservation Forest, continue along the access road until you see signs for Dothalugala Camping Site Road. Turn onto this road and follow it for approximately 5 kilometers. You will reach the Dothalugala nature trail parking area, where you can leave your car.

For those traveling by public transport, take a bus from Kandy to Matale. From Matale, look for a local bus that goes towards the Knuckles Mountain Range. Inform the bus driver that you want to get off at the entrance to the Knuckles Conservation Forest. Once you arrive, you may need to hire a tuk-tuk or walk approximately 5 kilometers along Dothalugala Camping Site Road to reach the nature trail. Be sure to confirm the fare with the tuk-tuk driver beforehand.
