Car
If you are driving, start from Kandy and take the A26 road towards Hunnasgiriya. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach a junction. Take the left turn onto the B146 road, which leads you towards the Knuckles Mountain Range. Continue straight for about 10 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Knuckles Forest Reserve located at FQ2Q+358, Medadumbara poddalgoda heeloya Rod, Gomara. Be cautious of the winding roads and ensure you have a map or GPS for navigation.
Public Transport
To reach Knuckles Forest Reserve by public transport, take a bus from Kandy to Hunnasgiriya. Buses leave frequently from the Kandy bus station. Once you arrive at Hunnasgiriya, you will need to take a tuk-tuk or taxi to cover the remaining distance of about 10 kilometers to the entrance of Knuckles Forest Reserve at FQ2Q+358, Medadumbara poddalgoda heeloya Rod, Gomara. The tuk-tuk fare should be around 500-800 LKR depending on your negotiation skills.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Kandy. This will be a more expensive option, with fares typically ranging from 2000-3000 LKR for a one-way trip to Knuckles Forest Reserve.
