Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Kandy. Head east on the A26 road towards Hunnasgiriya. Continue on the A26 for approximately 23 km until you reach the turn-off for the Knuckles Mountain Range. Watch for signs directing you to the 'Knuckles Conservation Area'. Turn onto the B35 road and follow it for around 12 km. As you drive, you'll pass through beautiful tea plantations and small villages. The road narrows and can be steep, so drive carefully. Once you reach the entrance to the conservation area, you may need to pay an entrance fee of about 500 LKR per person. After entering, follow the signs to your desired hiking trails or viewpoints within the Knuckles Mountain Range.

To reach Knuckles Mountain Range via public transportation, start your journey in Kandy. Take a bus from the Kandy Central Bus Station heading towards Hunnasgiriya. Buses run regularly, and the fare is around 50 LKR. The journey takes about 1-1.5 hours. Get off at the Hunnasgiriya junction where you will find a sign for Knuckles. From here, you can take a tuk-tuk to the conservation area entrance for about 800 LKR, or if you're feeling adventurous, you can hike from the junction, which takes about 1-2 hours. Be sure to check if the tuk-tuk driver is familiar with the Knuckles area to avoid any miscommunication. At the conservation area entrance, prepare to pay an entrance fee of approximately 500 LKR per person.
