Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Kandy. Head east on the A26 road towards Matale. After approximately 20 km, look for the signposts directing you towards the Knuckles Mountain Range. Follow the signs and take the B2 road to reach the entrance of the Knuckles Mountain Range. Once you are inside the range, continue towards the village of Sarasavigama. Parking is available at the base of Katusu Konda. From the parking area, you will need to hike approximately 3 km uphill to reach the summit of Katusu Konda.
Public Transport
To reach Katusu Konda via public transportation, board a bus from Kandy to Matale. The bus ride takes about an hour and costs around 100 LKR. Once in Matale, you can take a local bus towards the Knuckles Mountain Range, which will drop you near the entrance. The fare is around 50 LKR. From the entrance, you will need to hire a tuk-tuk to take you to the village of Sarasavigama for approximately 500 LKR. After reaching Sarasavigama, you will need to hike around 3 km uphill to the summit of Katusu Konda.
Hiking
If you are already in the Knuckles Mountain Range and wish to hike to Katusu Konda, ensure you have a map or a local guide. Start your hike from the nearest trailhead, which is well-marked. The hike is moderately challenging and will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Be sure to carry sufficient water and snacks for the journey.
