Car
If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Kandy. Head east on Kandy-Jaffna Highway (A9) for about 10 km until you reach the junction at Hunnasgiriya. Turn left onto Hunnasgiriya Road and continue for approximately 20 km, following the signs for Knuckles Mountain Range. As you approach the area, you'll see signs for Knuckles Base Camp. The camp is located on Thangappuwa Road. Please note that the roads may be narrow and winding, so drive carefully.

To reach Knuckles Base Camp using public transport, take a bus from Kandy to Hunnasgiriya. Buses run frequently from the Kandy bus station to Hunnasgiriya, and the fare is usually around 50-100 LKR. Once you arrive at Hunnasgiriya, you can either take a tuk-tuk or hike to Knuckles Base Camp, which is about 5 km away. Tuk-tuks are available near the bus stop, and the fare should be around 300-500 LKR depending on your negotiation skills. If you choose to hike, follow the signs towards Thangappuwa Road.
