Getting There

  • Tuk-Tuk

    From the center of Mirissa, head towards the main road (Galle-Matara Road). Look for a tuk-tuk stand, which is usually nearby. You can easily find one by waving or asking at your hotel. Tell the driver you want to go to 'A2, Hikkaduwa' or the 'Sea Turtle Hatchery & Rescue Center'. The journey will take around 30 minutes, and the driver will take you directly to the entrance.

  • Bus

    Walk to the Mirissa bus station located on the Galle-Matara Road. Look for a bus heading towards Hikkaduwa. Make sure to ask the conductor if it stops near the Sea Turtle Hatchery. The bus ride will take approximately 40-50 minutes. Get off at the Hikkaduwa bus stop, and then walk towards A2 road. The Sea Turtle Hatchery will be a short walk from the bus stop.
