Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the center of Nuwara Eliya, ideally from the bus station. Head southeast on Bank Road towards the main road (Peradeniya-Badulla-Chenkaladi Highway). Continue along this road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Nanu Oya Road. Turn left onto Nanu Oya Road and follow it for approximately 3 kilometers. You will pass by several local shops and small eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for road signs indicating Nanu Oya. After about 3 kilometers, you will reach the village of Nanu Oya. The entrance to the waterfall trail is located just before you reach the Nanu Oya railway station. Look for a small path that leads down towards the river.

    From anywhere in Nuwara Eliya, you can take a tuk-tuk to Nanu Oya Water Falls. Simply tell the driver you want to go to 'Nanu Oya Water Falls' or show them the address 'WPWQ+3G7, Nanuoya'. The journey should take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver will take you directly to the entrance of the waterfall trail, which is located near the Nanu Oya railway station. Be sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey.
