Getting There

Walking
If you are staying in the Sigiriya village, start at the main entrance of the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Head south along the main road (Dambulla - Sigiriya Road) for about 200 meters until you reach the intersection. Turn left at the intersection onto the road that leads to the Sigiriya Museum. Follow this road for approximately 300 meters until you reach the museum. From the museum, you can continue walking towards the Inner Moat by following the signs leading to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. The Inner Moat is located right next to the fortress, just a short walk from the museum.

Bicycle
If you have rented a bicycle in Sigiriya, start at your accommodation and head towards the Dambulla - Sigiriya Road. Cycle south for about 200 meters and take a left at the intersection towards the Sigiriya Museum. Continue cycling for about 300 meters until you reach the museum. You can park your bicycle at the museum and walk towards the Inner Moat, which is adjacent to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Follow the paths that lead to the fortress entrance, and you will find the Inner Moat nearby.

If you prefer to take a tuk-tuk, find a tuk-tuk stand in Sigiriya village or ask your hotel to arrange one for you. Tell the driver to take you to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. The ride should take about 5-10 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the fortress, you can easily walk to the Inner Moat, which is located adjacent to the entrance of the fortress. Just follow the path leading to the fortress, and you will see the Inner Moat on your way.
