From Udawalawe National Park, head northwest on the A4 highway towards Colombo. Continue on the A4 for approximately 60 km until you reach the turnoff for the A12 highway at a junction near Puttalam. Follow the signs to Wilpattu National Park. The entrance to the park is approximately 30 km from this junction. The entire journey should take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic conditions.

From Udawalawe National Park, take a local bus from the Udawalawe bus station to Colombo. The bus ride will take about 2-3 hours. Once you arrive in Colombo, transfer to a bus heading to Puttalam (approximately 2 hours). Upon reaching Puttalam, you can catch a local bus or a tuk-tuk to Wilpattu National Park, which is about 30 km away from Puttalam. Make sure to check the latest bus schedules, as they can vary.
