Walking
From the center of Unawatuna, head towards the beach, walking down the main road along the coast. Continue straight until you reach the main junction. At the junction, turn left onto the A2 highway (Galle Road). Walk straight for about 5 kilometers, passing through the town of Galle. Once you arrive at Galle, look for the large white clock tower on your right. The National Museum is located on Church Street, just a short walk from the clock tower. Continue walking towards Church Street, and the museum will be on your left.

Find a Tuk-Tuk at any of the local stands in Unawatuna. Tell the driver you want to go to the National Museum in Galle. The driver will take you directly there, which is about a 15-minute ride depending on traffic. You can use local landmarks like the Galle Clock Tower to ensure they know the location. The museum is located on Church Street, which is easy for them to locate.

From Unawatuna, walk to the main bus station located on the A2 highway (Galle Road). Look for buses heading towards Galle; they are frequent and inexpensive. Get on the bus and stay on until you reach the Galle bus station. Once you arrive at the bus station in Galle, exit the bus and head towards the main road. Walk straight for a few minutes until you see the Galle Clock Tower on your right. From there, walk towards Church Street, where the National Museum is located.
