Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Unawatuna beach area, head east along the beach until you reach the main road (also known as the Galle-Matara Road). Turn left onto the main road and continue walking for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass a few shops and restaurants along the way. Keep an eye out for signs pointing to Mirissa. Once you reach the junction for Mirissa, turn right and follow the road as it leads you towards the coast. Continue straight for about 2 kilometers until you reach Harbour Road in Mirissa, where the Whale Watching Club is located.

  • Tuk Tuk

    You can easily find a tuk tuk in the Unawatuna area. Simply approach a tuk tuk driver and tell them you want to go to the Whale Watching Club in Mirissa on Harbour Road. The driver will take you directly there, which is about a 15-20 minute ride. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey.

  • Public Bus

    From Unawatuna, walk to the main road where you can catch a bus heading towards Matara. Look for a bus with 'Matara' displayed on the front. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Mirissa bus stop. From there, walk towards the coast on Harbour Road, and you will find the Whale Watching Club just a short distance down the road.
