Getting There

  • Car

    From Yala National Park, head northeast on the A2 road towards Tissamaharama. Continue on the A2 for approximately 21 kilometers until you reach the junction with the A4 road. Turn left onto the A4 road towards Ampara. Drive for about 31 kilometers, then turn right at the sign for Gal Oya Valley National Park. Follow the signs for another 8 kilometers until you reach the entrance of the park at 6FHC+CP4, Henebadda.

  • Public Transportation

    Take a tuk-tuk or taxi from Yala National Park to Tissamaharama bus station. The fare should be around 1500 LKR. From Tissamaharama, board a bus heading to Ampara on the A2 road. The bus fare is approximately 100 LKR. Get off at the junction with the A4 road. From here, you will need to hire a tuk-tuk to reach Gal Oya Valley National Park which will cost you around 500-700 LKR for the final leg of the journey to the park entrance.
