Car
To reach Stockholms Skargard by car, start by navigating to Värmdö, located to the east of central Stockholm. From Stockholm, take the E18 highway towards Nacka/Värmdö. Continue on the E18 for about 20 km, and then take the exit towards Värmdö. Follow the signs for Värmdövägen (Route 222) and continue for approximately 10 km. Once you reach the Värmdö municipality, follow the signs leading to Skärgården (the Archipelago). You can expect to pay for parking in certain areas, so be sure to have some Swedish Krona (SEK) ready.

Public Transportation (Bus and Ferry)
If you prefer public transportation, start by taking the subway (Tunnelbana) from central Stockholm to Slussen station. From Slussen, transfer to bus 474, which goes directly to Värmdö. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Värmdö, you can catch a ferry to one of the many islands in Stockholms Skargard. The ferry departs from Värmdö and the fare is approximately 80 SEK for a one-way ticket, payable via SL (Stockholm Public Transport) app or at the ticket machine.

Combination (Car and Ferry)
Another option is to drive to one of the ferry terminals in Värmdö, such as the Stavsnäs ferry terminal. From central Stockholm, follow the same route as when driving to Värmdö. Once at Stavsnäs, you can park your car and take a ferry to the nearby islands. This ferry ride offers beautiful views of the archipelago and costs about 90 SEK for a one-way ticket. Be sure to check the ferry schedule ahead of time as they may vary by season.
