Ferry
From Ascona, walk to the Ascona Ferry Terminal located by the lake. This is about a 10-minute walk from the center of Ascona. Once you arrive at the terminal, purchase a ticket for the ferry to Cannobio. The ferry ride takes approximately 15 minutes. Enjoy the scenic views as you cross Lake Maggiore.
Walking
After arriving at Cannobio Ferry Terminal, exit the ferry and head towards the main street (Via Garibaldi). Walk straight along this street for about 5-10 minutes until you reach the waterfront. From there, continue walking along the lakeside promenade until you see signs for Castelli di Cannero. The castle is accessible via a short boat trip from Cannobio’s harbor. You may find local services offering boat trips to the castles; check for timings and availability.
Public Transport
Alternatively, from Ascona, you can take a bus to Cannobio. Walk to the nearest bus stop in Ascona and catch the bus heading towards Cannobio. The bus ride will take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Cannobio, follow the same directions as mentioned above to reach the Castelli di Cannero.
