From Ascona, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located on the main road (Via della Libertà). Take bus line 21 towards 'Varenna'. You will need to ride for approximately 30 minutes. Get off at 'Varenna - Esino' stop. From there, follow the signs to the ferry terminal.

At the Varenna ferry terminal, purchase a ticket for the ferry to 'Bellagio'. The ferry ride takes about 15 minutes. Once you arrive in Bellagio, disembark and look for the bus stop near the terminal.

Take the bus from Bellagio towards 'Perledo'. The bus ride will take around 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Perledo' stop, which is the closest stop to Castello di Vezio.

Once you have disembarked the bus at Perledo, walk up Via del Castellano. Follow the signs for Castello di Vezio, which will be approximately a 15-minute uphill walk. The castle will be visible as you approach.
