Walking
From the center of Ascona, head towards the lakefront promenade (Lungolago). Walk along the promenade until you reach the end of the waterfront. At the end, you will see a path leading upwards. Follow the path which will take you through some scenic areas and eventually lead you to the main road, Via delle Scuole. Continue walking straight on this road for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with Via Santuario.

Once you reach the junction with Via Santuario, look for the Orselina Funicular Station. This is located a short walk up Via Santuario. Take the funicular, which will take you directly up to Madonna del Sasso, offering stunning views of the surrounding area as you ascend. The funicular operates frequently, so you will not have to wait long for your ride.

After exiting the funicular, follow the signs that direct you to Madonna del Sasso. The path is well-marked and leads you directly to the sanctuary, which is only a short walk away. You will encounter beautiful gardens and pathways as you approach the church, making for a pleasant journey.
