Getting There

Train
From Grindelwald, take the train from Grindelwald Bahnhof to Andermatt. You will need to transfer at either Meiringen or Göschenen, depending on the schedule. The total journey will take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Once you arrive at Andermatt, exit the train station.

Hiking
From Andermatt, head towards the Oberalppass. The trail begins at the base of the pass and is well-marked. The hike to Oberalppass takes around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on your pace. This hike offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

Once you reach Oberalppass, continue hiking towards Rossbodenstock. Follow the marked trail that leads you around the lake and up towards the peak. This part of the hike should take about 1 hour, with more breathtaking views along the way.

After enjoying the scenery at Rheinquelle Tomasee, retrace your steps back to Oberalppass. This return hike will take about 1.5 hours. Be sure to take in the views once more on your way back.

From Oberalppass, return to Andermatt and catch the train back to Grindelwald. Ensure you check the train schedule for return times to avoid long waits. The total return journey to Grindelwald will take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.
