From Locarno, head to the main bus station, which is located near the train station. Look for bus line 312 heading towards Dongo. Board the bus and enjoy the scenic ride along Lake Como. After approximately 45 minutes, disembark at the stop 'Sorico, Via della Torre'. From the bus stop, walk about 500 meters to the north along Via della Torre, and you will reach the Riserva Naturale Pian di Spagna e Lago di Mezzola.

Take a train from Locarno to the nearby town of Colico. The train station in Locarno is just a short walk from the city center. Once you arrive in Colico, transfer to bus line 11 or 12 towards Dongo. Get off at the stop 'Sorico, Via della Torre'. The nature preserve is a short 500-meter walk from the bus stop along Via della Torre.

If you are up for a long walk, you can stroll along the scenic paths from Locarno towards the nearby towns, heading towards Sorico.
